Job Description

We are currently seeking an 2nd line engineer for a leading technology service department. You will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the service desk offering phone, remote, and on-site support to school based in Ilford, you will be tasked withthe following:

  • Acting as an escalation point for 1st line technicians, field technicians and managed service technicians.
  • Supporting a small number of customers face to face on a recurring timetable
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems
  • Ensuring the security of client and server computers by installing and upgrading antivirus and firewall software
  • Provide a high degree of customer service for all support issues, on-site or remotely
  • Provide onsite support for selected VIP customers on a regular basic
  • Provide remote 2nd line support to our customer baseThe key things were looking for from our 2nd Line IT Technician
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows, Mac, Linux and UNIX operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of key Windows Server Management tools - AD / GPO / DHCP / DNS
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and 11
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server - 2012r2 - 2022
  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace for Education
  • At least 3 years experience in a technical support role
