Design and execute experimentation to validate hypotheses, correlate material and process parameters to device performance. Analyse results in order to understand the processes that limit performance with a focus on developing device structures to realise further enhancements. Actively participate in activities to expand the company Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio by creating know how and patents. Participate in ideation processes with well-considered suggestions leading to possible solutions and unlocking new opportunities to enhance technologies. Effective communication with all team members and the wider organisation to distribute results, discuss problems, and provide next-step recommendations to progress the project. With support from the market analysis team, develop and maintain an understanding of application and/or market needs and develop solutions that can address these needs. Alternatively a degree in Physics with equivalent research experience gained within an industrial or academic environment would be acceptable. You must have experience in electronics, optoelectronics and/or semiconductor device physics and ideally exposure to research focussed on developing and demonstrating materials for new technology applications. You must be proficient in device characterisation using relevant test equipment and able to develop novel techniques to improve understanding and capabilities. You must have experience in fabricating devices in a cleanroom environment and the ability to followstandard procedures to ensure control and traceability. You will be able to analyse results, draw conclusions and clearly communicate conclusions and recommendations.Experience of using materials in prototype device structures, to demonstrate desired functional properties, and of identifying and developing theoretical models and implementing them alongside experimental work would be beneficial.Salary to c£38k per annum, flexible for the right candidate. To apply for this Scientist: Physics / Research Physicist: Organic Photodetectors role in Cambridgeshire please contactus ASAP!
