Job Description

Role: Logistics & Warehouse ManagerSalary: Excellent - Depending on experienceLocation: HuntingdonHours: DaysMain Duties:

  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and transport companies;
  • Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly and dispatch of goods;
  • The efficient utilisation of space and mechanical handling equipment, ensuring quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met;
  • Having a clear understanding of the companys policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these;
  • Coordinating the use of automated and computerised systems where utilised;
  • Responding to and dealing with customer communication by email and telephone;
  • Keeping stock control systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy;
  • Planning future capacity requirements;
  • Organising the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress;
  • Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded;
  • Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis;
  • Briefing team on a daily basis;
  • Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment;
  • Overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment;
  • People management - allocating resource, daily tasking in line with balancing business priorities, performance management of the individual and the team, training & development of competencies. Lead your team in creating good housekeeping practices, regardingstores, warehouse, and yard.
Additional Duties:
  • As part of the Operators team, to contribute to productivity and morale by communicating problems promptly to management and by assisting members of immediate, and wider teams, when required, to the best of job holders abilities.
  • To communicate effectively with management and other staff in order to improve morale and teamwork as well as better understanding of, and progress towards overall Company goals.
  • Occasionally there will be a requirement to work extra hours to meet deadlines.
