Job Description

GBR Recruitment are working exclusively with a leading manufacturer of high level engineered products for an experience CNC Operator with Wood Edge Banding / Wood Edging / Wood Machinery operating experience.Placing thin strips of veneer, covering raw and exposed sides of particleboard, plywood & solid-wood materials / parts.With your relevant previous Edge Banding experience you will be operating a CNC machine / Wood Edge Trimmer to a sharp, shiny, clean edge on all newly crafted furniture & fittings finishing the wood items to a high level quality finish to then be used in final assembly.Duties:

  • Operates CNC machinery. Understanding how the CNC machinery functions assisting with the setup and day-to-day operations.
  • Operating / minding of semi-automatic CNC plus other types of machinery and selection of the raw wood / other materials needed.
  • Assist with the operation of a full CNC maintenance programme in accordance with the Machine manufacturers guidelines, ensuring that the machines, tools and working areas are kept clean and tidy ready to carry out the next task and in line with H&S protocol.
  • Concise and clear wooden parts labelling / complete wooden product inspection reports (PI / QA duties) at the final stage of the machining.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of working with CNC Edge Banders / Edge Trimmers plus other machinery and hands tools.
  • Skills & Qualifications:
  • CNC Edge Banding Machinery experience or other Wood working Machinery within high quality / high end manufacturing facility.
  • It is a distinct advantage to have a woodworking industry background although others with CNC experience would also be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels (peers & SMT).
