Job Description

Are you based in the HULL area Do you have a passion for working with peopleJewson a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Yard Supervisor whos as passionate about great service as we are.We provide a fulfilling and enjoyable work environment with ample opportunities for career growth, along with a competitive salary, staff discount, life assurance, and 33 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)Hours - 7.30 - 5.00 Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8-12Jewson Hull Sissons Way, Clough Road, Hull, HU5 1SW Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
  • Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice
  • Ensure your team are set up for the day, including delivery drivers with route planning
  • Help to process and prepare customer orders - load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided!)
  • Work as a direct support the management team and act as a keyholder when needed
  • Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
  • Maintain stock levels in both the warehouse and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
  • Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority
  • Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement

Required Skills and Experience
  • Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
  • A positive team player who is a strong and inclusive leader
  • A genuine enthusiasm for dealing with customers, and a customer 1st attitude
  • Confident working both indoors and outdoors, with a strong focus on H&S
  • Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items
