Job Description

The Web Designer is a key role within the business, and will be responsible for owning the creative direction across all digital platforms used by the business, based in the Hull Head Office. The role will involve plenty of autonomous working, implementing unique creative ideas concepts to ensure millions of customers each day enjoy the best user experience.Client DetailsThis retail business based in Hull are proven industry leaders, manufacturing and retailing their product in the UK and US markets for decades. All manufacturing takes place in the UK and products sold both online and in showrooms across the country. The best quality materials are sourced in the UK, to ensure each customer receives the highest possible quality product.DescriptionThe web designer will be responsible for the following:-

  • Independently working to come up with and implement creative ideas and concepts for all digital platforms
  • Working collaboratively with the wider business including a multi-disciplined team of platform managers, developers and business analysts, creating design concepts which can be validated by testing, existing data insight and customer research
  • Bring new ways to improve existing experiences in order to increase customer engagement, ensuring each customer enjoys the best experience
  • Communicate and present the reason and thinking behind the design approach to senior stakeholders within the business
  • Work closely with web developers to ensure your designs are executed in the way you initially intended
  • Complete research with customers and internal staff to inform on design problems and solutions
  • Produce prototypes of both high and low-fidelity
  • Keep up to date with all new developments, platforms, technologies and techniques, sharing best practices amongst the business
    • ProfileThe ideal candidate for the Web Designer position will have the following skills and experience: -
  • 5 years experience of digital web design, either agency or client-side
  • A portfolio of work, demonstrating examples of progress projects through discovery, definition and design against set objectives
  • Experience working with with either Adobe XD,Figma Sketch, or other relevant UI design applications
  • A good understanding of responsive web design
  • Great communications skills and a can-do attitude and
  • An appetite to stay up to date with the latest digital design and UX trends
