Job Description

Transport Supervisor Office based roleLocation: HullSalary: up to £35kGrafton Recruitment are working on behalf of one of UKs leading, dedicated manufacturing companies who are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join their busy and expanding team.The role:

  • Ensure that loads are stacked safely and ready for dispatch to minimise transport delays and customers specific requirements are adhered to
  • Coordinate with production on loads being ready to dispatch and flag to production and sales teams any anomalies
  • Ensure all chassis have the correct identification
  • Coordinate drivers and sub-contractors as necessary
  • Work with production and planning teams on amendments to transport schedule
  • Liaise with customer goods in departments via telephone and email
  • Feedback any customer requirements to the sales team
  • Coordinate any additional delivery/collections
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are met within areas of responsibility
  • Maintain stock of straps and supports
  • Ensure FLT fuel tank is regularly dipped and arrange with purchasing to be refilled.
  • Organisation of fleet maintenance including coordinating with outside companies, ensuring daily driver inspections are being undertaken and recorded, dealing with maintenance reports.
  • Transport Dispensations including, conducting online applications, storage of dispensations, distribution of dispensations to drivers.
  • Management of staff
  • Management of the fleet transport system
You will need:
  • Transport Managers Certificate of Professional Competence - or working towards
  • Highly motivated with a pro-active approach to their work and driven by personal and team goals
  • The ability to lead, manage and motivate a team
  • Conscientious and reliable
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
  • Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines
  • Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation
