Job Description

As the worlds leading manufacturer and supplier of this product we arepassionate about our focus on safety and quality and committed to continuous improvement and technical innovation to ensure we remain the supplier of choice to our global customers.About the Role:An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Testing Technician to work as part of an established multi-skilled team. The role involves collecting belt and rubber samples from our Production area, preparing and testing samples in accordance with the Test Planand recording the results. As part of the process, you will liaise with the Management team and production staff and be responsible for testing, passing and affixing pass labels to our products and raising re-sample and quarantine tests as necessary.In addition to the core duties, the successful applicant will also assist with testing of development, competitor and customer return samples, carry out calibration of equipment along with data entry and maintaining records and assisting other team membersas required. Operating the Counterbalance Fork Truck is also a key part of this role.Key Requirements Operate in line with ISO9001 maintaining high quality standards to exceed customer expectations Follow all work instructions associated with the responsibilities of the position Considers the safety of self and others while performing job responsibilities Maintain a clean work environment using 6s standards and principles Strive for continuous improvement of the testing process Strive to maintain a positive work environment Meet and exceed daily targets including safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping Other duties may be assignedWorking PatternWe have continuous production operating from 6am Monday through to 6pm Thursday with additional shifts operating Fridays and Saturdays as required. You will initially work 7.30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 2.30pm Friday (with one hour unpaiddaily break), however, due to the support required, your working hours may vary in line with production requirements. You must be flexible and be able to work additional or varied hours as required.About You:Applicants will ideally be from an industrial background with experience of quality and testing. The successful candidate will also: have experience in a similar role have counterbalance Fork truck experience and hold a valid RTITB certificate have the ability to quickly gain product knowledge and understand production methods have the dexterity and accuracy in the use of measuring equipment, knives and electric tools be able to carry out physical work, including manual duties, manual handing and lifting Hold an IOSH Working Safely certificate or be willing to undertake health & safety training Have excellent interpersonal skills and hold a qualification in English and Maths at GCSE Grade C or equivalent Be self-motivated, and have good Time Management and Problem-Solving Skills Have experience of using IT packages including spreadsheets, email and databasesTo Apply:Please apply with a CV and covering letter explaining how you see this role fitting with your future career aspirations / plans.Closing date for applications is 12noon on Thursday 8th July 2021No Agencies
