Job Description

Our Hull location is an experienced leader in the injection and blow moulding industry housing state of the art blow moulding machinesand a modern fleet of injection moulding machines. IPL Hull takes initiative on providing eco-friendly solutions and pride themselves on delivering products specifically tailored to their customers needs. Key products include the "One Nest" stacking crate,jerry cans, Water Butt, composter, kerbside boxes, food waste containers and nestable bale arm trays.Position Title: Supply Chain ManagerLocation: HullThe commercial team are looking to fill the role of Supply Chain Manager in their Hull facility. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the movement of goods, from manufacturers and supplier to the customers. As the SCM you will oversee and manage every stage of the production flow from purchasing the raw materials to the deliveryof the final product. Using your expertise to develop strategies to increase safety, efficiency and productivity. The SCM will be the driver of continual customer service, product safety, quality, legality and systems improvements to support business growthtargets. The Supply Chain Manager will work 40 hours, Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:00pm.Job Overview and key duties (agile):

  • Responsible for end-to-end site supply chain activities, Inventory and Operations Planning Strategy (SIOP) with maximum impact on business results and customer service.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure consistent and reliable implementation of supply chain activities across the site to support the long-term business plan to ensure we maximize utilization of installed capacity and reduce costs
  • Schedules and forecasts the right volumes of materials, goods and products inbound to the business from its supply chain companies
  • Move materials, goods and products (including importing and exporting) to ensure that they are in the right place to meet customer demand
  • Work with agreed KPI’s to measure success (Short-, Medium- and Long-term plans), develop actions and drive the delivery with an ability to communicate progress across various levels of the organization.
  • Manage the Demand Planning process, underpinned by a deep understanding of the business seasonality, production capacity constraints which drives our safety stock, historical customer behavior and future customer forecasts; seek to continuously improvethis process.
  • Actively monitor actuals against plan and adjust the Demand and Supply plans accordingly
  • Actively monitor sales forecasts to identify any effect on the supply chain, implementing efficiency strategies and developing supply chain management procedures
  • Interpret and analyse complex data and trends and develop recommendations and strategies based on the analysis
  • Working with the wider Supply Chain team input into the analysis and investment proposals that align with the business needs and input into the preparation of budgets and proposals
  • Working with the wider site team strives to Improve and execute capacity planning process to align and balance supply with demand to provide input for labor, raw materials and equipment requirements
  • Working with the wider site team drive continuous improvement across supply chain, planning and logistics related activities and maintain all variables within the ERP system to optimize efficiency
  • Ensure IT systems in place are effective, accurate and maintained and review opportunities to standardise and streamline utilising current or systems
  • Overall responsibility and accountability for the materials planning determining how much and what type of materials and products to hold where in the supply chain which includes: distribution and replenishment plans.
  • Provide leadership, coach and develop direct reports and manage high performing individuals that deliver continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions
  • Set department objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance
  • Ensure that your team operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety of staff and visitors
  • Complete regular performance reviews, manage attendance, holidays, disciplinary issues and procedures as appropriate

The successful candidate will:
  • Operational experience - able to understand operational processes, customer requirements and technical attributes of the product range.
  • Commercially and financially astute; knowledge in multisite P&L management with clear ability to forecast, manage budgets and costs.
  • Results orientated with the ability to plan and prioritise multiple projects of self and others and to deliver against objectives and deadlines
  • Able to successfully lead and implement change, structure, and process and take a common-sense approach to encouraging continual cultural, technological, and operational transformation.
  • A manager who can collaborate and work across multiple functional areas
  • Comfortable working at a tactical level with some experience of developing strategies, a demonstrated ability to be hands on and remain close to sales and operations.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous.
