Sport Welfare OfficerFull time , 37 hoursFixed term Contract to 31st March 2027Starting salary: £33,000 per annumHybrid working roleOur vision for the Humber is that it is a place where everyone, every day is physically active for themselves, their community, and the planet.The role is to support sport National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and their local clubs to embed welfare policies and practices, as well as promote good practice and an inclusive culture of safe sport for children, young people, and adults.The role will involve training club welfare officers, working closely with Children & Young People and Adult Safeguarding leads, including Local Authority Designated Officers, and sharing best practice with other officers and the wider Active PartnershipNational Team.An ability to build relationships is a must, as is experience of working in a safeguarding and welfare role. You will be engaging with volunteers and staff from local clubs to raise awareness of safe sport and support them to develop and embed a cultureof safety and safeguarding. This will involve delivering training and sharing best practice.You will liaise with safeguarding organisations and be expected to be familiar with statutory frameworks including, the role of Local Authority Designated Officer, Safeguarding Childrens Partnerships and Adult Safeguarding Board.The postholder will work closely with their counterparts in the Yorkshire Sport Foundation and North Yorkshire Sport to share best practice and ensure a co-ordinated approach across the Yorkshire and Humber region.You will be highly organised, passionate to make a difference, a great team player and be committed to our vision and values.We offer hybrid working and a generous annual leave allowance and you will be expected to travel across the Active Humber region, with occasional national travel.The postholder is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.For more information about the Sport Welfare Officerrole, the job description and the hybrid working arrangements we have in place, please visit our website for a job pack.Closing date: 13th November 2023 (9am)Interviews: w/c 27th November 2023.Active Humber is an equal opportunities employer.IND2
