Job Description

Genesis Business Systems offers a comprehensive range of innovative and high quality IT solutions to companies in and around the Yorkshire area and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding team based in Hull.The primary purpose of this post is to lead a small development team and develop both customer-focused bespoke software and the companys own products.We are looking for an energetic, self-confident and forward-thinking individual who has an experienced background of software development and who is now ready to take the step of leading a team or who has already held a leaders position and is looking for a new challenge.Skills, Experience and TraitsYou must have a good knowledge of current technologies, primarily .NET and SQL with preferably mobile, web and cloud based platforms too. Recent or current hands on development experience, good communication skills and a commercial approach with an understanding of business processes are essential.Experience in some or all of the following is required:-

  • Delivering/commissioning development projects on time and on budget.
  • Working to deadlines and ensuring they are met.
  • Implementing the use of structured methodology and ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Dealing with customers and/or end users about project issues and queries in general.
  • Managing staff to ensure resources are used effectively and staff are motivated and productive.
    • The ideal candidate would display the following key skills/traits:-
  • Aptitude to quickly adapt and the desire to learn, to match the varied and constantly evolving nature of our work.
  • Strong decision-making skills, capable of making informed decisions with due care and consideration.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
    • ResponsibilitiesYou will:-
  • Manage the development team, assisting and mentoring to ensure good standards, consistent productivity levels and that projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Participate in hands-on work to produce modern software solutions.
  • Continue with the development of the companys own products.
  • Ensure the latest technologies, tools and methodologies are evaluated and adopted where relevant.
  • Liaise with the sales team and meet with customers to assess their requirement.
  • Work with your team to produce specifications and quotations.
