Job Description

Shipping CoordinatorSalary: £30,000 - £40,000Location: Commutable from Hull, Grimsby, Immingham, Scunthorpe, and GooleGrafton Recruitment is delighted to be working with an established, successful business in the Hull area for a Shipping Coordinator to join their established team. The Shipping Coordinator will work with the Operations Manager, monitoring the discharge of BulkReefer Vessels to ensure that all cargo arrives to their destination safely and in a timely manner. The Role:

  • Maintenance of the Discharging Position Sheet for daily reporting/presenting
  • Use of SAP to finalise Purchase and Sales Orders from estimated to actual
  • Consistently update all parties with relevant information pertinent to the vessel schedule
  • Arrange timely payments for vessels port expenses to prevent delays
  • Control the Cargo Clearance Status of each cargo parcel
  • Complete and monitor relevant documentation to enable discharge
  • Control Discharge Operations to ensure correct discharge and correct documentation
  • Calculate customer and voyage demurrage charges
  • Support Reefer Operations Manager in all aspects of discharging
  • Be available 24/7 in respect to discharging vessels and round-the-clock operations
  • Implement & monitor control measures used to reduce shortages
  • Calculate costing variances between Manifested Cargo and Discharged Cargo
  • Investigation of variances and implementation of measures/controls
  • Develop strong working relationships with all parties
  • Monitor costs and compare expected with actual, negotiate to reduce costs
The Person:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work to deadlines with good organisational skills
  • Experience of Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel etc.
  • Knowledge of SAP is beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Previous experience of working with international clients
  • Able to work well under pressure and at times in stressful situations
  • Able to adapt to changing circumstances
