Job Description

JB160: Senior Quantity SurveyorLocation: HullSalary: Competitive DOEOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities for the Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • managing their own client base and other members of the QS team when needed.
  • They will represent the company at a senior level along with managing their own workload with little input or direction.
  • Prepare monthly applications for payment & agreeing final accounts.
  • Carry out internal month end procedures including CTC & cashflow forecasts.
  • Sending out tenders, comparing quotations received, negotiating & advising on the award of the subcontract.
  • Attending meetings & liaising with stakeholders on operational/commercial issues.
  • Price variations and advise clients.
  • Keeping company sales ledger updated (applications, payments received, retentions).
  • Liaise with suppliers/transport departments of supply chain.
  • Liaise with site operatives to ensure site requirements are adhered to.
  • Maintain good working relationships with operatives and clients.
  • Implement company policies at all times
Skills and Qualifications for the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
  • Ideally looking for the applicants to be at Chartered or working towards being Chartered status due to the nature of the work.
  • The individuals will have several years experience in the construction industry and or similar professional practice. Also being used to managing a number of projects at any one time in a fast-moving environment.
  • This position calls for Quantity Surveyors who are comfortable in a client facing position.
