Job Description

Senior Design Engineer£45 - £55,000 + Bonus + BenefitsNear Hull, East YorkshireAre you a Design Engineer, ideally with experience designing Tractors, Trailers or similar Have you used Solidworks in a professional settingWell, my client are an established company with over 40 years experience and both national and international clients. They offer fantastic opportunities to progress and the role presents great earning potential too! Please see below for details of the roleand candidate requirements.Key responsibilities will include;

  • Quantifying the required materials/resources & assist with the creation of quotations
  • Liaise with customers regarding specifications & progress during the project
  • Creating preliminary drawings for submitting to customers & suppliers
  • Creating detailed drawings including BOMs for submitting to our Engineering workshop utilising Solidworks software
  • Attending meetings internally and externally
  • Liaising with external authorities with regards to transport legalities & legislation
  • Providing assistance and technical knowledge when necessary
  • Identify opportunities for development & improvement of our products & processes
The ideal candidate will be able to offer;
  • Attention to detail, able to work under own initiative
  • Ideally you will come from a similar transport based environment - LGV/Trailer manufacturing or conversion sector
  • Ideally designed trailers, chassis or vehicle bodies
  • 3D Modelling experience is a must. Ideally Solidworks but open to similar design packages such as Inventor or Solidedge
  • Good communication skills - be able to get on with the team internally, but also be able to communicate externally to customers & suppliers
