Job Description

Role: Retrofit Manager Salary: £42,423 Location: Durham Hours: Full time, 37 hrs pwRole and ResponsibilitiesYou will use your strengths and passion to lead the delivery of the decarbonisation of our housing stock and offices, ensuring that we make the right choices on the decisions that we make. You will make a difference by working with internal and external stakeholdersto develop and control the design and delivery of retrofit and energy efficiency programmes which reduce the energy costs of our customers, improve the thermal efficiency of their homes, tackle affordable warmth, and resolve the challenges we face in deliveringthe Governments Net Zero strategy. You will use your experience and drive to maximise the sourcing and successful capture of external funding opportunities to allow the acceleration of our retrofit and sustainability programme. You will lead the retrofit teamin the provision of excellent customer service and collaboration, providing specialist advice, training and support on all matters relating to environmental sustainability. You will use your expertise and passion for the environment to embed improvements incarbon reduction, affordable warmth/fuel poverty and environmental sustainability throughout our activities.Key responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of high-quality energy performance certificates and retrofit assessments, along with other relevant data, utilising your experience, understanding of PAS2035 and analytical skills to interpret this complex data to inform the developmentand delivery of retrofit and environmental sustainability programmes.
  • Lead on the management, control, and successful capture of funding opportunities, including ensuring that all relevant surveys and data are captured and completed in full, with the submission of all required information in accordance with the defined timescales.
  • Work with our customers and other stakeholders to inform, onboard, train and secure support for the proposed retrofit works, monitoring those measures installed to ensure their continued success.
  • Maintain and develop our externally verified environmental accreditation, including working with stakeholders to develop, implement and maintain a performance management system and environmental suite of KPI, actively benchmarking our environmental performanceto drive continuous improvement
  • Support and lead on all aspects of the development and implementation of corporate strategies/policies/vision on energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, decarbonisation and affordable warmth.
  • Assist the Head of Asset Management, to lead on the delivery of the companies environmental objectives, ensuring compliance with all environmental legislation and regulatory/statutory requirements/returns across the organisation (including MEES and theHeat Networks and Billing Regulations and advising on any required licences).
  • To lead and support the assessments of the energy performance of our stock, developing and maintaining the SAP/energy database, providing in[1]depth analysis of data, developing options appraisals to inform our decision-making processes and developing/delivering/contract administration of programmes which target improvements in accordance with our corporate and strategic priorities and plans.
  • To act as a "Environmental Champion," promoting and increasing awareness of sustainability issues throughout the organisation and the community in which we work, providing training to staff and customers around energy and environmental matters includingproviding advice and "sign posting" on environmental and energy saving matters.
  • To actively and regularly review and update with stakeholders the specifications, standards and schedules of works associated with our activities, targeting the delivery of improvements in environmental sustainability.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to regular review and monitor the utility contracts of the organisation, driving efficiency and value for money.
  • This will include monitoring of the BMS and sub meters and the use of this data in developing targeted improvements.
  • Skills/ExperienceEssential criteria:
  • Relevant degree and/or have substantial experience of working in a relevant sector.
  • Knowledge of the social housing sustainability and its decarbonisation challenges, and the relevant legislation and standards, including Decent Home Standard
  • Experience of using SAP/ RdSap and an understanding of PAS2035 retrofit requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience in Project Management/Contract administration
  • Experience in Environmental sustainability, including energy management.
  • Experience of delivering grant funding applications.
  • Relevant demonstrable experience of successfully developing and maintaining environmental strategies, policies, and programmes.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and present complex data, including controlling, validating and reconciling core environmental data
  • Excellent IT Skills, including advanced Excel and Database abilities.
  • Demonstrable record of CPD and a knowledge of current and emerging challenges in the field of environmental sustainability
  • Full driving licence

  • Accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA)
  • Retrofit Assessor Qualification
  • Retrofit Coordinator Qualification
