Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is a University Teaching Hospital with 1293 beds and an annual budget of £481 million. The Trust supports a variety of tertiary services and is both a Major Cancer Centre and Major Trauma Centre. The East Riding of Yorkshire is a very popular place to live. The cost of living is significantly lower than elsewhere in the country making it an excellent place to achieve a good work/life balance.The Acute Respiratory Assessment Service (ARAS) provide the review, assessment, optimisation, education and ongoing management of both COPD and asthma patients across the trust. The opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to join the team within chest medicine, providing specialist care for COPD and asthma patients. The current team consists of 3 respiratory consultants, 4 specialist nurses and an audit/data clerk.The ARAS team post holders will identify, assess and provide early supportive discharge for patients with COPD, care and treatment being delivered both in hospital and the patients home. Support a respiratory in-reach service in the trust, ensuring timely and effective hospital discharge of acute COPD/asthma patients, provide specialist care and management, provide specialist respiratory clinics, whilst supporting the team in its continuing service development.Are you an individual who is able to work both autonomously and as an active member of a small team Are you keen to develop skills in respiratory medicine and would like to be part of this exciting opportunityThe post holder must possess experience within respiratory/acute medicine/critical care, and have an interest and desire to work with COPD/asthma patients.For further details / informal visits contact:NameJoanne Thompson ARAS Managerjoanne.l.thompson@hey.nhs.uk
