Job Description

Our services have supported thousands of people to make positive changes and build productive lives with a job, family, friends and a sense of community.Forward Trust now delivers services within the Commissioned Rehabilitative Services (CRS) as part of the Ministry of Justice’s new probation system, procured by Regional Probation Directors to provide flexible, responsive services to help break the cycleof reoffending.The RoleJoin our dynamic team at Dependency and Recovery Services, where we are committed to making a positive impact on individuals re-entering the community from the criminal justice system. We are currently seeking a dedicated Recovery Navigator to work in ahybrid model, collaborating with a flexible, multi-disciplinary team across various community delivery sites.Key Responsibilities:As a Recovery Navigator, you will carry a diverse caseload of adult male prison leavers and individuals on community orders within the Probation services. Your primary goal will be to support them in implementing their action plans and navigating their recoveryjourney. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments.
  • Creating collaborative action plans.
  • Delivering structured one-on-one, group, and virtual sessions.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
You will be a multi-skilled professional capable of providing support and interventions across all complexity levels. Your role will require flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing demands, including working across London.Key Duties:
  • Enhancing access to treatment services.
  • Providing support and guidance for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and complex needs.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert in specific vulnerable groups or needs to support colleagues.
We are committed to not duplicating services already in place but, instead, ensuring access and sustained engagement with existing provision to reduce re-offending.Qualifications and Skills:We are looking for candidates who possess:
  • Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice sector.
  • Strong experience in the field of substance misuse or related areas.
  • Demonstrable experience managing high caseloads, conducting risk assessments, and creating SMART action plans.
  • Proficiency in delivering both 1:1 and group interventions using motivational techniques and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Experience working with treatment and healthcare services.
  • The ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Effective collaboration with key partners to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to meet targets.
  • Understanding of equal opportunity and GDPR requirements, including client confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact sensitively and professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • A Level 3 substance misuse-related qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proactivity, resilience, adaptability, confidence, and teamwork.
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback for personal and professional growth.
