Job Description

R&D / Product Design Manager (Mechanical Manufacturing)Hull£50,000 - £60,000 + training + 25 days holiday + bonus Are you an R&D / Design engineer, with a background in mechanical manufacturing, looking to work for an SME, which is part of a larger group that is heavily investing in its UK operations, with the goal of reaching 1 billion turnover in the next 5-10 years,where you will be in a pivotal role, creating new products and improving existing products for the water mist system / fire protection industryAre you looking to join a highly innovative company which provides industrial water mist systems to protect hospitals, museums, tunnels and critical power systems, through cutting edge manufacturing, where you will be in a senior management role, directlyadding value and making a positive impact on peoples lives around the worldOn offer is the opportunity to step into a highly autonomous role which you can make your own, with a company which is undergoing rapid and sustained growth. You will be responsible for designing pump units with electrical control panels, managing projectsfrom concept to completion. You will also review existing products and carry out product developing / improvement activities through innovative design.The role:

  • Manage the design process from start to finish, for pump units with electrical control units, including prototyping, analyzing and problem solving
  • Plan and execute validation protocol to avoid risk and ensure the product can be verified for production
  • Product technical reports and documentation using 3D CAD models, 2D CAD drawings, bills of material etc.
  • Provide technical support to the production team, ensuring new products are manufactured effectively
The person:
  • Electrical or Mechanical Design background, with specific experience of designing pump / nozzle units and / or electrical control panels / systems
  • Experience with product design / development
