We supply businesses in the sectors of food manufacturing, baking, Foodservice and retail, and we work closely with customers to co-develop bespokeproducts.About the roleAAK UK are seeking to appoint a QA Specialist to join the Hull Technical Team. The successful candidate will be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and legislative requirements in additionto assuring the quality of products manufactured and stored across the site.Responsibilities

  • Develop and ensure complete compliance to all food safety and quality standards including HACCP, legislation, BRC, ISO & customer COPs.
  • Participate in site HACCP reviews and associated verifications.
  • Conduct internal audits against the QMS system and Customer COPs whilst looking for improvement opportunities.
  • Work with all departments to ensure root cause analysis is undertaken to facilitate continuous improvement projects and ways of working. Investigate and use root cause analysis to resolve out of specification issues for the site.
  • Participate in customer, supplier site visits and audits, and assist in the closure of audit non-conformances within the required timescales.
  • Review traded and speciality oils packaging specifications.
  • Assist with complaint investigations to ensure appropriate corrective and preventative actions are taken.
  • Conduct routine traceability challenges.
  • Support in creating a positive food safety culture on site including action plans.
  • Support with sampling for Positive release of products and ingredients.
About youThe successful candidate should have the following skills and experience.
  • Previous experience working in a similar role (FMCG experience advantageous)
  • Previous working experience in the food industry desirable with good knowledge of BRC, ISO & FSSC requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Food hygiene/HACCP qualification advantageous.
  • Able to work well within a team and on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to find areas for improvement.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Able to make and communicate decisions.
