Job Description

To support KCOM in achieving our ambitious plans, we are looking for an experienced, commercially minded and driven Programme Manager who will play a key role in the management and delivery of a range of programmes ensuring they are delivered to time, budget and quality. Your role will be to establish and apply best industry standard programme management to ensure effective governance e.g. Prince2/SAFE.You will manage effective relationships with all stakeholders and contributors ensuring progress is appropriately prioritised, tracked and reported and effectively communicated to optimise collaboration to deliver to plan. This is a leadership role, requiring the management of direct and indirect resources.Some of your key accountabilities will be:

  • Directly monitor, track and report progress and issues on a range of business programs and projects as required, some of which will be across multiple business domains and complex.
  • Ensure effective inter-project jeopardy management can be governed, measured, reported escalated and resolved.
  • Providing support as appropriate to ensure projects overcome analytic challenges and maintain progress.
  • Applying KCOM’s business wide objectives and priorities so to undertake effective programme prioritisation and jeopardy management.
  • Working closely with operational managers to identify relevant team resources.
  • Individual Programme and Project management of budget projects including both Capex and Opex.
  • Support the production of Business Cases and papers to justify investment to support business benefit. Subsequently support the Post Investment Analysis process to demonstrate the benefit achieved.
  • Consider improved ways of working and identify the way to introduce such operational efficiencies.
  • We are looking for individuals who You will have substantial experience of successful Programme Management within a ICT environment with experience of managing high value programmes and contracts.The ability to work strategically with senior management and other internal influencers, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills is essential, as is a positive attitude and the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with a range of stakeholders and partners.You will be able to work well under pressure with the ability to plan, prioritise and organise to meet competing deadlines.As a critical thinker you will be required to challenge the business to ensure that rthe right objectives are met and deliver real business benefit.It is expected that you will hold programme management qualifications and/or accreditatons e.g. PRINCE2What you will get from KCOMWe are as passionate about our people as we are about our customers.
