Job Description

Production PlannerHull Up to £40,000 - £45,000 + package Are you an experienced Production Manager / Master Scheduler with a background in fast-paced manufacturingElevation are working with a growing manufacturing business in Hull to find their new Production Planner. This is a newly created position to help grow and bolster the team as their market offering increases.As a Production Planner you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the site, planning for multiple lines and variants within each finished product.You will be responsible for planning and scheduling production activities, optimising resource allocation, maintaining inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing costs and delivering the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) for the company. Thisrole is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a keen eye for detail.Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedules to meet customer orders, ensuring on-time delivery and efficient resource utilisation.
  2. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, working with raw materials and components as needed, and work closely with the procurement team to optimize stock levels while minimizing waste.
  3. S&OP Leadership: Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align production plans with sales forecasts and overall business goals.
  4. Communication: Act as a liaison between various departments, including production, procurement, and sales, to coordinate and communicate changes in production schedules or priorities.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the production planning function.
  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure that production plans adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements, working closely with the quality control team.
  7. Data Analysis: Analyse production data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of production plans and make data-driven decisions.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience in Production Planning and S&OP in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using planning and scheduling software/tools and software
  • Strong Excel skills are essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
