Job Description

Procurement ManagerHull£50,000 - £60,000Our client are an international engineering company specialising in the manufacture, installation and servicing of a range of automated material handling systems.ResponsibilitiesProcurement Manager

  • Conduct supplier, product and manufacturing capability research and use this information to support preferred supplier status
  • Identify suppliers/products that meet quality & manufacturing standards
  • Obtain supplier/product performance data eg; costs, quantity, delivery lead time and quality and use to recommend preferred supplier status and product selection;
  • Obtain quotations
  • Negotiate supplier procedures, agreements and audits & coordinate with line manager
  • Maintain directory of product cost prices, supplier agreements, terms and conditions etc
  • Maintain a copy of supplier database.
Experience/QualificationsProcurement Manager
  • Business Degree/CIPS/Institute of Supply Management qualification or equivalent
  • Experience at management level
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a procurement and outsourcing Department, within a fast-paced and demanding SME manufacturing environment
  • Experience of international overseas purchasing and negotiation essential, including the Far East and third world countries
