Position: Operations Technician Job Type: 2 Year Contract (PAYE Via Rullion)Location: Easington, Hull, HU12, East Ridings of YorkshireRullion are working with Gassco AS UK, a forward-thinking organisation responsible for transporting Norwegian gas safely and efficiently to millions of people in UK. They are looking to recruit an Operations Technician who is responsible for the executionof day-to-day operational tasks on the Langeled Receiving Facility (LRF) and all its associated Production Systems/Utility Services. Delivery of high levels of HSEQ standards and regularity performance required and expected by Gassco. Acting on the instructionof the Shift Operations Supervisor.Main Responsibilities and Activities:- Monitor and control the flow of hydrocarbons from supply to point of export - Monitor and record plant conditions, bringing deviations or malfunctions to the attention of the Operations Supervisor - Prepare process plant and equipment for maintenance by applying specified isolations/venting/purging etc - Prior to start-up of any plant or equipment, inspect and confirm suitability to return to normal service - Maintain work area (site) in a safe, clean and tidy condition, Carry out regular inspections of the installation - Minimising downtime by contributing to the achievement of production targets - Prepare production reports, with regards to plant performance - Perform first line maintenance, identifying and reporting any defects or faults into SAP maintenance Notifications - Carry out mechanical isolations, gas tests and work-site PTW inspections/audits - Carry out emergency duties as required by the Operations Manager - Cover for unforeseen circumstances in relation to staffing of the Operations Shift TeamsRequirements:QualificationsEssential: - HNC / NVQ in process operations or other engineering discipline.Desirable: - Appropriate NVQ/SVQ level 3 certification (Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Hydrocarbon processing) - NEBOSH General Certificate - Occupational Health and safety Management or, Oil and gas Certificate.Experience- 2 - 5 years of relevant experience within the gas industry or similar industry. - Experience in MPPs, RAs, PTWs to understand and comply with procedures - Experience in delivering safe and efficient operations on process and related plantsPersonal Qualities- Good behavioural attitude towards colleagues. - Challenging with respect to others - Shares knowledge freely - Willing to go the extra mile to achieve goals - Positive attitude towards changeKnowledge & Competencies- Knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry, DCS Control systems, Permits to Work, isolation management. - Emergency Management - Risk Assessment /Risk management - Good knowledge of isolation techniques and their application - Good knowledge of fault-finding and troubleshooting on process plants. - Excellent communication skills both verbal and written - Procedure writing experience - Experience in Maintenance preparation - Able to problem solve in situations of urgency - Methodical approach to task management - Risk aware in relation to contractor management - Numerate with the ability to interpret technical drawings (P&IDs, PFDs) - Good understanding of Health, safety and environmental requirementsWhy ApplyGassco is the operator for an integrated gas transport system for safe and efficient gas transport from the Norwegian continental shelf to Great Britain & Continental Europe.
