Job Description

Multiskilled Maintenance TechnicianFull-time permanentNorth Lincolnshire - DN20£40,000 - £43,000 (£18-£20/hr) plus overtime rates4 on 4 off, average 42 hours per weekThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a conscientious and forward-thinking manufacturing company within FMCG who are currently going through a major investment period, overhauling its machinery and facilities to benefit its people and its productivity.With a strong focus on ensuring the safety, health and wellbeing of their staff, this client is a strong believer in people first and strives to maintain a clean and safe environment to work in, while also playing their part in reducing the environmentalimpact of their work.They are expanding their engineering function and looking for a multiskilled maintenance engineer to join the team, in anticipation for big upcoming projects including machinery upgrades and full system overhauls.The main purpose of the role will be to carry out all aspects of maintenance activities and upkeep of the plant and services, including reactive and preventative maintenance, in a safe and efficient manner which meets company and industry standards and requirements.The position holder will also be involved in project work and gain ongoing training to ensure full capability within post.Specific responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Health & Safety policies and safe working practices are adhered to at all times, including wearing PPE as appropriate.
  • Actively contribute to Company efforts to promote safe behaviour and safe systems of work.
  • Carry out and complete planned preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems as per site PPM strategy.
  • Repair breakdowns of electrical and mechanical areas as safely and quickly as possible, liaising with operators to ensure machines are fully functioning upon repair.
  • Carry our checks and ancillary activities to build/repair machinery and facilities (welding, cutting, grinding, wiring) ensuring all meet legislative requirements.
  • Complete all documentation and record-keeping in an accurate and timely manner as required.
  • Requisition supplies for maintenance.
  • Liaise with Production Operators and management to identify opportunities to continually improve processes and site.
Competencies:
  • Knowledge and experience of both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Relevant engineering/discipline qualifications e.g. 17th/18th Edition, NVQ3.
  • Specific experience working with Pneumatics, PLCs, FMCG machinery.
  • Equipment and machinery maintenance including facilities.
  • Strong knowledge/experience in troubleshooting and fault-finding within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Process Support equipment.
  • Strong IT knowledge.
