Job Description

Mechanical Maintenance EngineerFull-time Hull£38,000 per Annam plus Overtime available at enhanced ratesMonday - Friday (6am to 2pm Shift)A long-established food manufacturing company with a strong focus on its core values including its people, and its environmental impact and sustainability. They are looking for an addition to their engineering team.The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the company site is maintained in a good standard of condition and repairs are completed at all times in line with company standards and customer expectations, while ensuring the Engineering Department paperworkis up to date.Specific responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all work undertaken is within Health & Safety guidelines and safe working practices are adhered to at all times, including wearing PPE as appropriate, to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, comply with and promote environmental policies and ensure the company operates in compliance with all relevant industry legislation.
  • Complete all electrical and mechanical PPMs to schedule.
  • React in a timely manner to repair breakdowns of electrical and mechanical equipment, machinery and facilities as and when required.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties as and when requested by management.
Person specification
  • Experience within engineering
  • Experience within FMCG/fast paced production environment, ideally food manufacturing
  • Specific experience working with food production and packaging equipment
  • Mechanically biased but with an understanding of electrical engineering
  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding
  • Basic Health and Safety
  • Food hygiene training/certificates beneficial
  • Proven training certificates and accreditations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment and desire to learn and study within working environment
  • Strong IT knowledge and skills
  • Work well with others and independently
  • Good time-keeping and reliability
  • Able to adapt to changing needs within the business
