Job Description

Manufacturing Production EngineerHullPermanent Full TimeSalary: £30k to £35k dependent upon experience.We are working in partnership with a rapidly growing company who are now expanding. The company is a market leader in their field and serve not only the UK markets but now also Europe and North America.The company is now looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Production Engineer to support the production facility with Engineering projects to include product manufacturing techniques and process mapping to include production area set up of projects for both existing and new products to include designing Jigging & tooling, implement lean processes and support continuous improvement changes throughout the business. This is an extremely important new role within this manufacturing buisness as they upscale their operation.The Manufacturing Production Engineer role will involve the following duites;

  • Assist with production Engineering projects in all departmental functions.
  • Responsible for process design from initial concept through to project delivery of the product.
  • Provide technical skills to develop existing and new production methods and systems and develop methods of work within the manufacturing process.
  • Work with the design/production/purchasing team providing onsite support/advice to allow manufacture of the product to suit engineered design.
  • Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and in budgets set.
  • Developing process flows and standard operating procedures for new production cells
  • Provide production technical support to external and internal customers.
  • Coordination with the other Engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for project success whether production Engineering or as part of a project team.Maintains communication with departments to ensure production priorities and shortfalls are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Keep production Engineering manager informed on progress of project, with agreed periodicity.
  • Attend project and factory review meetings as required.
  • To be conversant with both the company’s procedural and control systems applied to the production Engineering department.
  • We are looking for a Manufacturing Production Engineer who has previous experience and the following skills,
  • A good knowledge of engineering manufacturing procedures with experience of implementing and using 5s and Kaizen methods.
  • Technical experience with preferred background in engineering qualifications (mechanically) and minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position/industry.
  • Experience of designing production work flow and designing equipment to support.
  • An understanding of Engineering methods, processes and manufacturing procedures to include composite materials, Glass reinforced product, Aluminium and steel construction.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal and able to communicate effectively with other members of staff in all departments including the shop floor.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and record project progress to set deadlines.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications such as MS Word MS Excel, MS PowerPoint etc.
  • Experience of using 2D & 3-D CAD Design software.
  • Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently or in a team environment.
