Job Description

Logistics Coordinator up to £26,000Grafton recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a fantastic growing logistics organisation in Hull.Ideally you will have a previous experience working in international shipping / logistics and be highly organised with good attention to detail. This role will provide excellent prospects for a bright, hardworking and career minded candidate.The Role:

  • Liaise with freight agents and courier companies for quotes, queries and issues relating to the movement of shipments
  • Obtain and compare quotes to ensure the best serve level and competitive rates are achieved
  • Correctly classify goods and apply correct customs procedure codes on consignments
  • Maintain HMRC records Generation of all shipping documentation ensuring that rules and regulations are adhered to and followed
  • Monitor shipments to ensure on time delivery is achieved
  • Keep import log up to date
  • Liaise with internal departments on a daily basis to keep the orders schedule up to date with current status
  • Keep up to date with customs control regimes
  • Check shipping invoices received are correct for payment
  • Coordinate all supplier/direct deliveries on a daily basis
  • Monitoring and controlling weekly budget intake targets, highlighting any issues
  • Deliver a consistently high level of service to suppliers and key stakeholders accommodating changing demands
  • Respond and resolve any delivery queries within agreed timescales (i.e. issuing deliveries/stock/paperwork)
  • Communicate any supplier/delivery/intake issues to Manager
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Skills Required:
  • Shipping and logistics experience - Knowledge of the international sea freight and airfreight processes, Incoterms and shipping/commercial documentation.
  • Intermediate Excel skills e.g. use of formulas/functions, conditional formatting, table management.
  • High level of accuracy with work and excellent attention to detail when checking documents.
