Job Description

Lead Developer Required Hull/Hybrid £70k to £80k per annum…Principal IT are excited to be working with one of Hulls most established businesses, this company is a household name in the region and are currently embarking on an exciting digital transformation to bring them into the 21st century to enable them tobe better placed to compete in a crowded market.This business has really seen massive growth in the last couple of years since they adopted an ecommerce platform and are now looking to grow this platform and really start pushing online sales.Part of this vision is to bring in a Lead developer to help them with not just strategy but also team management and hands on development, working on this award winning platform will help any developer raise their profile so to be brought in as a lead developerto help manage the original team is an important role for this business.Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead role in developing ecommerce related solutions in a composable tech stack
  • Coaching and mentoring developers and testers (potentially multiple geographic locations)
  • Collaborating with team members and wider stakeholders including senior stakeholders
  • Building outstanding relationships and motivating and inspiring teams.
  • You would spend approx. 50% hands-on coding, 25% team management, 25% tech initiatives/wider teamwork
Skills & Experience required:
  • Proven track record of playing a Lead developer role in a technology delivery environment with eCommerce experience being key
  • Strong knowledge of Vue.js and Nuxt.js framework
  • Strong knowledge of PHP Laravel framework and experience building API-first applications
  • Significant experience of building development and test teams in an agile environment
  • Significant experience working with SaaS eCommerce platforms such as BigCommerce and SaaS CMS platforms such as Bloomreach
  • Significant experience in Agile methodologies, e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean SD, XP, DSDM
  • Working on integration projects on a large scale in agile environments with partners
  • Experience working with Atlassian suite - JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket (Git)
  • Experience with React and/or React Native will be considered a plus
