Job Description

Laboratory Technician(initially a 3 month temp contract, potentially progressing into a full time position)Location: HullSalary: £26,596 per year Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri)Grafton Recruitment are proud to be working on behalf of a Global food manufacturer based in Hull who are looking to ad a Lab technician to their team.The Role

  • To assume responsibility for safety of self and others whilst at work ensuring that all requirements as laid down in the Companys policy are implemented in order to fulfil all legislative requirements
  • Sample and carry out a range of Analytical and Microbiological analysis on Finished Product and In Process samples
  • Interpretation of results and the instigation of appropriate action including out of spec reports
  • Calibration of analytical equipment as required
  • Carry out quality control and housekeeping inspections and advise supervisor or relevant Managers of any issues arising from such
  • To assist as required in the analysis required for the Effluent Treatment Plant and after hours Monitoring of Effluent Treatment Plant.
  • To ensure that all standards and requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 quality system pertaining to the Laboratory are adhered to
  • To collate fermentation quality & process information reports
Skills and Qualifications
  • HND or equivalent in Food Science or a related subject
  • Experience of working within a quality system environment
  • A proven track record of Laboratory work
  • IT skills - Good working knowledge of spreadsheets (Microsoft products)
  • QC and QA experience
  • knowledge of analytical and microbiological analysis techniques
  • Previous laboratory experience especially in a food manufacturing environment would be an advantage
