This role is based at their Kingston-upon-Hull site and cannot offer remote working.DescriptionIT and Data Systems Lead - Hull - Lab systems and dataThe informatics lead will support and ensure effective operation and digital security compliance of a wide range of IT systems, specialist applications across the site and local networks (uLAN (utility LAN), aPCN (auxilliary PCN)) which are critical to theoperation of analytical laboratory and development laboratories.The role will administer and manage Scientific information and knowledge database systems, including digital and hard copy archives, which include SharePoint, OpenText, and shared drives including management of vendor interfaces.Some key responsibilitiers include:* Administer and manage Scientific information systems which include SharePoint, and Knowledge Management systems including vendor interfaces.* Manage and maintain a portfolio of self-supported applications to provide key laboratory operational capabilities essential for delivering analytical requirements.* Responsible for ensuring key systems (e.g., laboratory data historians) operate with high levels of reliability and availability and interface properly with other networks and systems, specifically KM databases, LIMS, uLAN, aPCN interfaces, PI interfaces,corporate networks etc.* Accountability for maintaining disaster recovery plans to ensure business-critical systems.* Responsible for managing laboratory IT systems licenses* Drive systems standardisation and best practice to reduce costs and align with business requirements.ProfileTechnical Skills* Depth of knowledge and well-developed IT skills, including software and hardware maintenance* Knowledge of laboratory and manufacturing operations and related data management, IT systems and networks* Detailed systems knowledge of:* Chromatographic Data Systems (e.g., EZChrom, OpenLab, Atlas, Chromeleon)* Laboratory Information Management Systems (e.g., SampleManager, LabVantage)* Process Control Systems (e.g., Emerson DeltaV)* Resource Planning Systems (e.g., SAP)* Management of the technology archive system and understanding of associated intellectual property* Depth of knowledge in Administering and managing scientific information systems e.g., SharePoint, and KM systems including vendor interfacesBehavioural Skills* Strong communication and influencing skills* Ability to engage key stakeholders including business IT teams* Proven ability to communicate and translate complex IT / systems information to range of non-IT audiences* Effective stakeholder management skillsJob OfferThis role would suit an IT Literate, detail oriented individual who is keen to learn new systems and skills and has some exposure to data analytics, ideally within a laboratory, life sciences or clinical environment.The company are committed to staff wellness, with many of their sites across the globe having on-site gyms and offering fitness classes and wellness related initiatives and discounts.They operate with a flat, non-hierarchical organisational structure without a lot of red tape, so your input and decision making has a real impact.Please note that due to the nature of this business, they are only able to offer on-site working 5 days per week.IT and Data Systems Lead - Hull - Lab systems and data
