Job Description

Are you interested in developing your skills and experience working within custody and across the community It is an exciting time to be working in custody. The Ministry of Justice is introducing a new TTG specification which redefines the way we work through the gate. You will be central in supporting the implementation of the new Integrated Through the Gate model and subsequently supporting the team in delivering Integrated Through The Gate (ITTG) in Custody. Your role will include engaging with supply chains in Custody and in the Community to ensure successful bridging between Custody and the CommunityYou will be based and work in one of the prisons. You will be able to represent the CRC whilst communicating with internal HMP providers, including the Primary Support Team, Offender Management Unit Team, NPS and other relevant prison staff. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a new approach to work with Service Users and contribute to shaping the way we deliver prison services into the future.You will have knowledge of Interserve’s operating model, Interchange, as well as an understanding of the complexities and challenges of working in custody or secure environments. You will be able to work on your own initiative, be assertive whilst promoting and living the Interserve values. This is an excellent developmental opportunity where you can lead and shape the processes underpinning the implementation and delivery of ITTG. This is a permanent role reporting to the ITTG Strategic Manager within the Community Rehabilitation Company.This is a part-time role working 18.5 hours per weekJob PurposeProvide a comprehensive and effective administration service to the ITTG team supporting the delivery of ITTG in Custody and across the ‘Gate’ to enable an effective rehabilitative serviceAbout the Role The Ministry of Justice is introducing a new TTG specification which redefines the way we work through the gate. This role offers an opportunity to develop and shape the processes that underpin ITTG into the future.You will have knowledge of Interserve’s operating model, Interchange, as well as an understanding of the complexities and challenges of working in custody or secure environments. You will be able to work on your own initiative, be assertive whilst promoting and living the Interserve values. his is a permanent role reporting to the ITTG Strategic Manager for Integrated Through the Gate within a Community Rehabilitation Company.Tasks are limited to but will include:

  • Update and track ITTG performance data, report on gaps in data and highlight issues that could impact on ITTG performance
  • Provide support to assist in the mobilisation of the new ITTG service to the ITTG Strategic Manager
  • Provide administrative support to ITTG staff including generating letters for service users, filing reports, oversee officer diary management and meeting minutes
  • Maintain accuracy of service user case management system records
  • Update relevant service user records utilising systems such as PNomis
  • Run reports utilising all available data systems to support achievement of performance
  • Organise interpretation services for service
  • Liaise and process referrals with partner agencies within the prison and in community including Police, health, education OMiC
  • Undertake administrative activities to support the Integrated Through the Gate Strategic Manager with the smooth running of the office
  • Attend ITTG team meetings and any other meetings as required
  • Alert relevant colleagues should any risk be identified in relation to promoting the welfare of children and adults
  • Alert relevant colleagues should any risk be identified regarding prisoner vulnerability or risk of harm to other prisoners
  • Work collaboratively with Primary Service Provider
  • Proactively liaise with Community based CRC Senior Case Manager and Case Manager
  • Perform other duties commensurate with the post as from time to time may be determined by the line manager, or above
  • Knowledge Skills & ExperienceEssential:
  • GCSEs including English and Maths (C or above) or equivalent
  • Ability to enforce standards and procedures
  • Commitment to a reflective learning approach
  • Microsoft Office – Word and Excel
  • Desirable:
  • Commitment to undertake VQ3 Diploma in Probation Practice or equivalent
  • Working/volunteering in the Criminal Justice System
  • Working with individuals with challenging behaviour
  • Understanding the importance of performance and quality in practice
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System
