We supply businesses in the sectors of food manufacturing, baking, Foodservice and retail, and we work closely with customers to co-develop bespokeproducts.About the roleThe role of the HSE Coordinator is to use their knowledge and skills to promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace and to provide technical advice on a broad range of HSE issues to operational & engineering personnel to achieve safe, reliable,efficient plant operation at AAK Hull. Reporting into the sites HSE Manager, this role is a permeant, Monday to Friday position.Responsibilities

  • Act as one of the site permit controllers and key stakeholder in the control of work process. Ensuring risk assessment and point of work risk assessment is embedded within the permit to work process.
  • Contractor ManagementLiaise with and manage contractors who participate in the permit to work process, ensuring safe working practises.
  • Electronic permit systemHelp deliver the roll out and introduction to the Sites new permit to work system across site (QPerm).
  • Deliver HSE Training on a broad range of subjects including training to all stakeholders who participate in the permit to work system, Lock Out Tag Out and another other relevant training as required.
  • Be a first responder to site incidents and accidents and complete incident investigations and root cause analysis as required.
  • Have an understanding of site COSHH requirements, including carrying out assessments as necessary.
  • Manage the Near Miss System & Database including developing, maintaining and reporting KPIs from the system.
  • Complete occupational and behavioural safety audits including closing out corrective actions.
About you
  • Professional HSE qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) is essential.
  • Previous experience working with operating teams in a high hazard industry.
  • A broad understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental issues and a passion to continually improve HSE performance is essential.
  • Experience of working with Permit to Work systems
  • Strong knowledge of HSE systems, controls and legislation is required.
  • Experience in responding to incidents and accidents and completing RCAs.
  • Ability to quickly establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • IT literate and comfortable working with different systems.
