Job Description

Grafton Recruitment are currently seeking a permanent Health & Safety Manager to join a market leading and expanding company within the engineering/construction industry. With contracts on a national basis, the successful applicant will be responsible for a number of projects, with a varied level of clientele and range of value. Previous exposure in a similar environment or industry is essential, with the ability to be reactive and exceed expectations under pressure with short deadlines.H&S Manager Job Details:

  • Type: Permanent
  • Location: Hull - Office based (none remote)
  • Shifts: Days, Mon-Fri
  • Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 DOE
  • Other: Company Car, Pension Scheme
    • H&S Manager Key Responsibilities:
  • QHSE focal point for the company - including a large team of mobile engineers and 20-30 projects at a time
  • Providing high level of QSHE support; risk assessments, operational advice and guidance, training, inspections, compliance etc
  • Ensuring all project assessments and accreditations are in place ahead of commencement and engineer deployment
  • Liaising with various business stakeholders, ranging from internal engineers, directors, project managers to external clientele
  • Produce regular reports regards SHEQ performance
  • Carrying out incident/accident investigations
  • Develop and implement existing (and new) site risk assessments and work instructions for all operational activities
  • Carry out site visits, depending on SLAs and strategic improvement implementation
  • Responsible for relevant industry QHSE accreditations and licences
  • Represent the company at client meetings, offering key QHSE knowledge for tender bids etc.
    • H&S Manager Person Specification:
  • Relevant NEBOSH qualifications as a minimum
  • Previous exposure within a similar project led is essential
  • Exposure to the construction/engineering/facilities management is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of your industry, with the confidence to make informed business critical decisions
  • Able to work under pressure, managing high levels of interchanging information at any one time
  • Excellent organisation skills
