Formed in 1945 they operate as ironmongers, heating engineers, locksmiths and refrigeration engineers, supplying both industry and farmers with their daily requirements.Due to continued expansion and ambitious growth plans, this unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced sales & marketing professional to take this 77-year-old secure family business to the next level.The successful candidate will be required to immerse themself into the business before creating a Sales & Marketing Strategy and Action Plan that will support their ambitious growth goals. You will ideally have a pedigree in the retail of hardware, fixings,or ironmongery and you will definitely need experience in the B2B retail trade sector.You will have complete autonomy in driving the sales and marketing strategies for the company across a number of routes to market. You will work alongside the MD, Operations Manager, Purchasing Manager & FD for a company with the appetite, cash, capacityand infrastructure to grow.You will be expected to play a key role from the outset in the following areas but not limited to:-

  • Developing, implementing and managing the sales and marketing strategy for a broad range of products across both digital and bricks and mortar channels
  • Recruiting and managing the personnel to help you achieve your strategy
  • Organising and measuring the performance of internal and external sales staff
  • Tracking marketing and sales data and identify areas of improvement
  • Measuring and increasing market share
  • Working closely with digital and traditional advertising agencies
  • Scaling digital offering and exploring new channels
  • You will meet with clients to gather market intelligence and insight to refine our offering
  • You will liaise with purchasing to develop a pipeline of new commercial product opportunities
You are likely, but not necessarily if your experience is solid, to be educated to degree level (business/marketing/analytical subject) with an evident growth record.
