Head of Process Assurance

Job Description

Our client, a large and reputed operator are seeking a Head of Process Assurance to join the team.Working closely with the Technical Director of the site, you will be responsible for Process Assurance and lead the sites integrity management and legislative compliance activities.As Head of Process Assurance you will work collaboratively across the business to manage the process safety risks of the site. The role will involve taking a view on continuous improvement of Process Safety activities in line with achieving agreed annual objectives.The Head of Process Assurance will have a comprehensive technical background gained within the chemical, or process sectors and demonstrate an extensive knowledge of process technology.The Head of Process Assurance role involves: * Acting as the Engineering Authority for all aspects of process engineering. Working to manage / implement standards for plant operation, maintenance, and design* Support the assurance of compliance and ongoing performance improvement to Process Safety HAZOP, LOPA, PSSR etc.* Development and implementation of improvement strategies for plant integrity compliance (COMAH / Environmental Permit)* Challenge and optimise existing policies, practices and procedures.* Support the business through the input of knowledge, experience, and skills primarily in the areas of process safety eg. Process relief, HAZOPs, PHSSERs, RBI, Plant Start Up Audits, Incident Investigation and Value Improvements Studies within the CapitalValue Process.* Support the facility in root cause investigation processes where appropriate* Provide chemical engineering approval for the technical content of modification requests, including calculations, risk assessments, datasheets, and drawings etc* Understands and maintains understanding of COMAH expectation and champions process safety activities.* Acts as a resource for process safety concerns to other stakeholders* Development of management systems and their continued certification to the associated recognised standard.The Head of Process Assurance will have: * Degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.* Chartered Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.* Experience of working in a similar technical position on an Upper Tier COMAH site* NEBOSH diploma or equivalent would be preferred* A minimum of ten years relevant industrial experience including plant operations and design.* Management of Change approval.* A good working knowledge of national and international codes and standards pertaining to process design and equipment selection.* A proven record of being able to work successfully in a multi-discipline team environment.* Excellent communicator who demonstrates the ability to build and develop stakeholder relationships* An experienced manager with demonstrable leadership skills and a knowledge of world class management systems and processes.This is an excellent opportunity within a progressive company offering rare opportunities to make a meaningful impact to a company and its operations.Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd are a professional level recruitment consultancy specialising in the delivery of high relevance recruitment services on behalf of our clients across the UK.
