Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join a high-growth PE owned group based in East Yorkshire as their Governance Manager.Client DetailsThe client are a PE owned, high growth business in HullDescriptionThe Governance Managers responsibility includes but wont be limited to;

  • Management of the Control Framework programme, assisting business leaders in the assessment of risk, the design and implementation of controls to mitigate risks identified and running assessments on internal controls.
  • Maintenance of risk register, ensuring material risks across Financial Reporting; Regulatory compliance; operations; and business environment are regularly updated, and senior management briefed.
  • Support management in collating results, determining areas of focus and providing updates to the Board of Directors.
  • Further develop internal control dashboards, focusing on exception reporting (which feeds into compliance programme and risk register)
  • Monitor automated controls, system robotics highlighting exceptions to be investigated
  • Management and coordination of key company policies working with HR, Finance and other business areas to ensure policies are up to date reflecting current regulatory environment. To include disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Design programme to ensure regular assessment of policies and their practical application in the business (part of the controls framework) and organise appropriate training programmes in conjunction with HR to ensure employees are fully aware of responsibilities.
  • Project Management - Champion improvement of company processes, documentation and efficiency (including digital transformation). Recording improvements taking place across the group, encourage & highlight best practice.
ProfileThe successful Governance Manager will be;Independent of the Finance function this role will report into the Board through the CFO. The successful candidate will have:
  • Internal audit background
  • Project management experience an advantage (training can be provided Prince2, Agile etc)
  • Process Mapping experience (Microsoft Visio) useful but training can be given
  • Behaviour - curious mind, self-starter, comfortable working across teams and communicating with senior management.
  • An ability to integrate a PLC like control framework with an entrepreneurial private business
  • Strong systems skills and understanding of latest digital innovations
