Job Description

Successful, growing ISP / Tech business, seeking an experienced Fibre Network Planner to take a lead role in the build of fibre optic and fixed wireless networks.This hugely ambitious company already have a stable infrastructure and coverage across both rural and urban areas. Your role is to guide the expansion of this network, ensuring maximum coverage and stability.Responsibilities

  • Design and create fit for purpose and cost-effective fibre optic and fixed wi-fi networks, to include topology layout, fibre splice plans, cable duct and routing
  • Production of construction & cabling work packages for internal or external teams
  • Creation of bill of materials associated with the network build work packages
  • To forecast CAPEX and OPEX requirements of designed infrastructure projects
  • Reactive desktop designs and feasibility for new opportunities
  • To drive consistency, quality, suitability and cost-effectiveness with every design and build
  • Ensure that all works comply with guidelines and relevant codes of practice
  • Work with the Project Manager to deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders, internal, external, local authorities to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the infrastructure and react to any change.
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • Ability to understand and produce detailed industry-standard level of survey, installation and as-built documentation
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of civils route planning
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of fibre planning
  • Detailed understanding of UK local and national authority regulations in respect to civil engineering works
  • Detailed understanding and working experience of Wayleave
  • Understanding of chamber and duct construction
  • Cabling splicing design
  • Understanding of FTTP and FTTC methodologies and design
  • Understand Radio and Wireless methodologies
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team without line management responsibility
  • Knowledge of NRSWA, CDM, Code Powers and SafeDig
  • Experience of achieving critical deadlines
  • Experience of supporting tender bids
  • Ability to identify engineering risks and associated solutions
