Job Description

Tradewind Recruiment are looking for an exceptional English teacher to join our team at a school in Hull on a maternity cover basis starting from June 6th. This is a full-time position, and payment will be linked to the main teaching pay scale.Due to the long term nature of the position, the school are looking for a candidate who will be fully immersed into the school life, and embrace the ethos of the school. The school is accessible via public transport from many areas of Hull and has a largeonsite car park for those candidates who do drive.Expectations and requirements of an English teacher:

  • Must have a degree in English or a relevant subject area
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent
  • Have experience in teaching English Language and Literature to Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the current National Curriculum for English
  • Good behaviour management skills and ability to engage and inspire students
  • Be passionate about teaching and have excellent subject knowledge
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and deliver effective lessons
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK, have a DBS on the update service and have sastifcatory references
Ideally the school are looking for a candidate who has experience teaching English Language and Literature to Key Stage 4 students, but as the September break looms, they would also consider applications from strong teachers who have experience teachingEnglish to Key Stage 3, as there is the potential to change the timetable in September to be more Key Stage 3 heavy.Applications from recently qualified teachers who are due to finish their courses are encouraged for this position, and there is even the potential to sign off a term or two off.If you are interested in hearing more, please press apply now or get in touch for anymore questions on: or for a phone call!
