Job Description

I am partnered with a leading manufacturing company based in Hull, that have been established for over a century and are now bringing their security in-house. You will be reporting to the IT Operations Manager, who has a wealth of knowledge of the businesshe can transfer across to you. This is a great opportunity for the individual to take the lead on security in the company and use their initiative to bring on new ideas.Client DetailsThey are looking for an all rounded Cyber Security Engineer, who will be involved in protecting and securing their systems from attacks. You will be the main contact within the team and the wider businesses for all relating to security.As their Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying and understanding cyber risks within the businesses, as well as leading on projects to mitigate and resolve these.This is a great opportunity for someone to take control on security and use their initiative.This is a hybrid working role with two days onsite in Hull a week, 3 days WFH (during the initial probation period). After this, more remote flexibility is offered.DescriptionThe ideal Cyber Security Engineer will have...

  • Understanding of Security technologies and toolsets such as SIEM, SOC, XDR, SOAR
  • Experience with Cyber security risks and the ability to remediate and/or mitigate
  • Network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and endpoint protection
  • Technical architecture and security aspects of infrastructure, web, application
  • Demonstrable experience securing and monitoring Windows environments at an enterprise level - both on premise and within cloud environments
  • Securing and monitoring enterprise network infrastructure - ideally Cisco
  • Demonstrable experience securing and monitoring endpoint devices - ideally MS Stack
  • Good understanding of information security principles and best practises
  • Knowledge on securing/monitoring applications - both out of the box deployments and in house developed systems (Desirable)
  • Experience within an FMCG/manufacturing business and/or exposure to ERP systems (Desirable)
