Customer Solutions Architect (Permanent, Full Time)Up to £46k per year dependant on experienceLocation - Hull (currently remote, pending government guidance)Business Area - KCOM RetailClosing Date - 4th December 2020What will I be doingAs Customer Solutions Architect you will support the Sales teams within KCOM Retail with solution design and consultancy services. You will shape customer’s IT architecture and strategy, ensuring that they understand the broad KCOM value proposition. You will identify and drive from a technical perspective opportunity within those accounts that span the KCOM portfolio. As Customer Solutions Architect you will engage, and manage as a virtual team, consultants and other design resources as appropriate to develop specific opportunities. You will work closely with sales management to develop account plans and strategies and will be proactively engage in sales forecasting to facilitate this process.You will work with technologies such as Cisco LAN/WAN solutions, both KCOM and national provider WAN designs including MPLS/VPLS topologies, multi-vendor WiFi, cloud based solutions and voice solutions.Some of your key accountabilities:• To work with all sales teams, to help influence and develop the customers IT architecture using the KCOM portfolio of products • To assist in the development of an account strategy and contact plan for those target accounts aimed at raising the awareness and credibility of KCOMs value proposition and developing opportunities across a broad range of solution areas• To build a comprehensive understanding of the business strategy, challenges & opportunities of key customers• To assist the sales team with the technical qualification of a new business opportunity or prospect, or with a complex requirement within an existing customer account, to ensure that it aligns with KCOMs target markets, portfolio, delivery and operations capability• To engage with the customer at a senior IT/IT Director level as a trusted advisor, to position KCOMs value propositions and to help develop a broad, integrated cloud & communications strategy, roadmap and reference architecture• To identify specific opportunities within the account, engaging consultants and other pre-sales resources as appropriate to develop solutions and tailor products which meet these requirements• To take overall ownership and accountability for all solutions and associated costs within their nominated accounts, managing a virtual team of solutions consultants and other resources to provide a cohesive, integrated solution• Consideration that changes to service, process, organisation, operating model and other aspects may be required in addition to technology components, and solutions must demonstrate how agreed requirements (such as automation of business processes) are met, any requirements which are not fully met or, and any options or considerations which require a business decision• The design and communication of high-level structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs. This may include architectural documentation, journey maps, return on investment models, and functional component specifications to enable High Level Designs to be producedWhat do I need to do this jobThe successful applicant will have a broad, technical understanding of the KCOM portfolio including WAN/LAN design and Cisco hardware and software practises, an appreciation of voice and WiFi hardware and design and voice connectivity such as SIP and ISDN. Any knowledge around Microsoft cloud connectivity and solutions support and deployment would be beneficial. As would Microsoft O365 and Teams experience.The successful applicant will be adept at communicating technical concepts at all levels of a business and will be comfortable presenting and discussing these concepts with an audience. They will require a logical yet flexible approach to problem solving and have an acute commercial awareness as well as a technical appreciation.They will be expected to work well within a small team with a demanding workload and be able to prioritise and deliver projects from within a virtual team or as an autonomous consultant.
