This advert is for a Community Payback Supervisor within The Humberside, Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire Community Rehabilitation Company (HLNY CRC) - based in the Hull area.The Courts sentence offenders to do unpaid work in the community as an alternative to a custodial sentence. In our work as a probation provider, we will identify suitable community payback placements for offenders as well as supervising them whilst they undertake it. Community Payback placements can take many forms including; maintaining the grounds of parks, churches, local sports clubs, providing luncheon clubs for the elderly, painting village halls, repairing the edging of public footpaths, working for charities in shops and local communities.Key ResponsibilitiesThe role is primarily to supervise groups of up to 8 offenders in order for them to complete their unpaid work hours over a 7-hour period. Working pattern will be Friday-Tuesday 8:30-17:00.You will be required to transport offenders to their placement, supervise them at the placement and share work-related skills. It is important that you build rapport with the offenders and promote pro social attitudes with the aim of changing behaviours and reducing reoffending.At the start of each day you will need to carry out an on-site health and safety induction as well as ensuring offenders comply with health and safety policies and procedures throughout the day.You will need to be proficient with IT as you will be required to assess and record the progress of offenders as they complete the hours of their sentence.The role requires flexibility to work across different geographical areas and involves working weekends. Unsocial hours pay enhancements apply for weekend working.Skills and ExperienceTo be successful, you will need to be able to demonstrate:
