Community Co-ordinator (Fixed Term) based at MHA Communities, Hull and East RidingAvailable Hours: Permanent - Part Time - 25 hours per week.This is a two-year fixed term post to fulfil an exciting project in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Your role will be a mixture of delivering activities to older people but will also include visiting older people in their homes that have become isolated forvarious reasons such as a fall. Your role will be to identify ways of encouraging the older person to re-engage with her local community so it is a place they will enjoy growing older in.You will also be responsible for working with the scheme manager and volunteer co-ordinator to match volunteer befrienders with an older person that is unable to re-engage in groups and activities. You will be expected to assist any older people to groupfor the first time so you will need to be able to take them in your car.All activities will seek to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness and promote the wellbeing of older people across a range of community settings.The project will primarily be focusing on the Holderness area of the East Riding and travel expenses will be paid in and around the visits and roles, but candidates must either live local to this project or be prepared to travel to the area at their ownexpenses.This is a challenging and varied role but incredibly rewarding.
