Job Description

Due to continued growth, a global manufacturer in the Hull area is looking for PERMANENT experienced CNC Machinists to join their growing team. The company has invested heavily in new machines and is incredibly busy with a very busy order book.The successful candidates will ideally have experience on VTL machines and have substantial knowledge of Fanuc controlled multi axis CNC machines. Ideally you should have the following skills and experience.

  • A good knowledge of various CNC machines
  • Must be fully competent in Multi axis machines with Fanuc controls
  • Experience of C and Y axis lathes
  • Served a recognised Engineering apprenticeship or time served equivalent
  • Experience working with a variety of metals
  • Ability to read and fully understand engineering drawings is essential
  • Experience of fixtures holding devices for cast components is advantageous
  • Online programming experience is preferable
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork required
  • Adopt a lean manufacturing attitude to maximise efficiency
  • Use 5s processes
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness within the machine shop
Duties include:
  • Setting/operating of CNC Lathes, Mills, Machining centres & Horizontal boring machines
  • Some online programming maybe required as well as editing programs to a competent level
  • Excellent problem-solving mentality and skills required
  • Work with the Programming department to adopt modern machining methods
  • Maintain a strong working relationship within the team
  • Communicate well within the team
  • Actively involved in assisting and supporting other departments for the needs of the business when required in the machine shop
  • Establish excellent working relationships across the company to facilitate machine shop output
  • Able to structure workload, as well as resolving problems at short notice
