Job Description

Full Time Permanent Band 8a Clinical Psychologist at Inspire CAMHS inpatient serviceThe Inspire CAMHS inpatient service opened in Hull in January 2020 and we are excited to be able to expand the team to include an experienced clinical psychologist. You will work alongside a full time consultant clinical psychologist and assistant psychologist providing psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to young people and their families admitted to the 9 bed General Adolescent Unit and 4 bed PICU wards. Previous experience of working in inpatient settings is desirable but not essential.The successful candidate will be skilled in psychological assessment (including psychometrics), working therapeutically with young people and families, providing clinical supervision, reflective practice and staff support. Further training in systemic practice (to intermediate level) and experience in neurodevelopmental assessment are desirable. The opportunity to complete further training in systemic practice (Intermediate level training) and neurodevelopmental assessment will be supported.The Inspire unit delivers inpatient care working in partnership with the local community as well as being part of a wider network of agencies supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of young people and families. The service is working towards providing a whole system trauma informed approach with the focus being on the desire to build upon individual and community strengths, wherever possible, and ensures that young people and their families are active decision makers in the process of choosing what will work for them.Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust provides comprehensive child & adolescent mental health services across the whole of Hull & East Riding. The services are a CYP IAPT organization and Thrive Community of Practice, working within the Thrive conceptual framework to develop a localized need led model that enables care to be provided flexibly.We also have a strong focus on evidence based practice and the use of routine outcome measures. There is a commitment to ongoing staff training to enable practitioners to have accredited therapeutic and supervisory skills. We are also working towards having more participation from young people and their families in directing service development.The successful candidate will hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and be eligible for registration with the HCPC. There are strong links with the Hull University Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Course and other local training course, including Leeds and Sheffield. We encourage psychologists to develop links with others throughout the region by promoting attendance at PQT and SIG events and we are a research-active Trust with a well-established Research Department and host an annual research conference.
