Job Description

We are advertising a 0.8wte band 8a post, however we would welcome applications for a band 7 development position, to join our Community Mental Health Service to work across two busy and energised urban secondary mental health teams as we undergo transformation to a Primary Care Network integrated service with a trauma informed approach. If the band 7 development post is appointed to we will have an additional day to offer on a FTC basis until the post holder transitions onto the 8a position.Whilst working across West and East Hull CMHT you will be supported by your two 8a psychology colleagues. In order to offer a variety of skills to maximise support for our clients, MDT and psychology staff we are operating a hub model of a small team of psychologists and psychological practitioners working across both the Hull teams. This enables us to offer a tiered approach to multiple interventions including MBT, EMDR, DBT, Family Interventions, CBT and CFT. We have one vacancy and an additional post to increase our psychological provision due to service developments. The focus on expanding psychological therapies is in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and the local CMHT Transformation work as we are one of the twelve early implementer sites across the country. You will also have access to our specialist Complex Intervention Service which comprises trauma, EUPD and psychotherapy teams. There are a number of groups that meet to develop services and provide professional support such as the Hull Teams Psychological Therapies Forum, the CMHT Psychology Group and the Adult Mental Health Specialty Meetings.As part of the team you will be inputting into consultation, support for staff, reflective practice and formulation groups, supervision of staff (qualified CMHT staff, other psychologists, clinical psychology trainees and assistant psychologists), assessment, formulation, direct clinical work, training and evaluation to ensure that your team has the greatest impact on recovery and a positive client journey .You will play a pivotal role in helping the team to continue improving its practice and to provide good, co-ordinated, structured clinical care whilst maintaining staff well-being.As the band 7 you will be supporting the 8as in providing clinical leadership alongside the team clinical leads as they steer service development and support psychologically underpinned and driven assessment and treatment pathways in the teams which are currently under development. These are teams passionate with ideas about how to develop the service and have a long history of valuing and working with psychology. We are a cohesive and enthusiastic group, enjoying strong links with the local clinical psychology doctorate training courses( Hull, Leeds and Sheffield) and regularly offer placements to trainees and contribute to training.
