The Blood Sciences laboratory at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has a wide test repertoire including routine haematology, blood transfusion, coagulation, biochemistry including specialist biochemistry testing and immunology. We are looking for a Band qualified band 5 Biomedical Scientist or Trainee Biomedical Scientist to join our team.The laboratory at HUTH is one of the busiest laboratories in the region processing in excess of 6,000 requests per day. The wide variety of work and expertise available at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital provides an ideal environment for aspiring Biomedical Scientists or qualified Biomedical Scientists wanting to expand their knowledge of specialist testing procedures.This is a post for an enthusiastic, well motivated, forward thinking individual, who will be expected to develop multidisciplinary skills as part of the laboratorys on-going move towards an integrated Blood Sciences department.Applicants for the trainee position must have an IBMS accredited degree and be willing to undertake IBMS registration portfolio in order to gain HCPC registration.Hull is a cosmopolitan and upcoming, yet affordable city.
