Job Description

Accounts Assistant –Hull –up to £25,000 plus bonusChase & Holland are excited to be working with a large, highly reputable Top 100 business who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to bolster their finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance you willbe responsible for the management and maintenanceof all aspects of the Purchase Ledger, entering of Subcontractor Application/Invoices and oversight of the cashbook for the business.Package & Benefits:

Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Ensure internal controls are adhered to and invoices are approved appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal staff to ensure queries are dealt with efficiently
  • Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account information
  • Preparation and instruction of weekly supplier / subcontractor payment runs
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Management and oversight of the cashbook and month end bank reconciliation
  • Logging and processing of employee expense claims
  • Routine and Ad-hoc excel based reconciliations / reporting
  • Day to day administrative duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, letter typing, and emails relative to the role and Finance team
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Previous working experience within a high-volume ledger role
  • Excellent telephone manner and be smart in appearance
  • High levels of computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
  • A positive disposition with a desire to become a valued and supportive team member
  • Ability to be flexible whilst being able to prioritise a variety of tasks
  • Exhibit excellent communications skills and the ability to liaise with suppliers & subcontractors
  • Structured and self-disciplined with the ability to work well in a busy and fast paced working environment
