Trust Doctor (ST3 – ST8 level) in General SurgeryJob reference: 372-SURG-MD43Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is nestled in the heart of the stunning Pennine hills; the area which inspired the works of the Bronte sisters. We’re conveniently situated between the vibrant cities of Leeds and Manchester surrounded by a rich and varied heritage with breath-taking scenery, places to see and things to do.Applications are invited for the post of Speciality Doctor in General Surgery. The post holder must have an interest in all aspects of General Surgery and will be expected to take part in the emergency rota at a registrar (ST3-ST8) level, undertake elective and emergency theatre sessions at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, Calderdale Royal Hospital and associated hospitals in the independent sector and will be required to participate in the General Surgery and Vascular Surgery out of hours on call service and to work on a flexible basis to meet service demand.The posts are ideal for trainees who have completed Core Surgical Training who wish to apply for Higher Surgical Training (ST3) programmes or IST programmes in General Surgery or Vascular surgery in 2021 or senior surgeons who wish to develop applications for consultant surgeon posts through the CESR route. Each post-holder will be assigned an Education Supervisor and a Clinical Supervisor and given ample opportunity to develop their portfolios for future training programme application. There are significant opportunities for research, audit and endoscopy training as well as several leadership and teaching positions within the Department.
