Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor - ConstructionLocation: HuddersfieldJob Type: Permanent, full timeSalary: Up to £80,000As a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. Will play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget,while maximising profitability and minimising risks. The duties will involve collaborating with clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams, to effectively manage project finances and contracts.Responsibilities:1. Financial Management:• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts.• Monitor project costs, expenses, and cash flow, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.• Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings.• Review and negotiate contracts, purchase orders, and subcontracts with suppliers and subcontractors.• Assess and manage financial risks and variations.2. Contract Management:• Review and analyse contract terms and conditions, identifying key deliverables and obligations.• Negotiate and finalise contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including project timelines, quality standards, and payment terms.• Handle contract changes, claims, and disputes, working closely with project teams.• Implement effective contract administration processes and maintain accurate documentation.3. Collaboration:• Collaborate with clients, architects to understand project requirements and objectives.• Participate in pre-construction meetings, tender evaluations, and contract award processes.• Provide commercial and financial advice to project teams, including estimating, procurement, and planning.• Communicate and negotiate with clients and subcontractors on commercial and contractual matters.• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.4. Reporting and Analysis:• Prepare regular financial reports, including budget tracking, cost analysis, and financial projections.• Conduct financial audits and risk assessments to identify potential issues and propose corrective actions.• Analyse project profitability, performance, and productivity, offering recommendations for improvement.• Provide accurate and timely information for management decision-making processes.• Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.Skills• Proven experience in a similar commercial management role within the construction industry.• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, contract law, and commercial terms and conditions.• Excellent financial management and budgeting skills.• Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for financial analysis and reporting.• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.• Attention to detail and accuracy.• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.Apply now!
