Senior Payroll Administrator£26,000 to £28,000Huddersfield, HD1 2EWThis isnt your ordinary job. The Role We are looking to recruit an ambitious, motivated, and hardworking Senior Payroll Administrator to join our existing team in a full-time office-based role. As a Senior Payroll administrator, you would prepare the payroll for multiple clients of the practiceand be part of a small yet growing payroll team.We want you to speak with clients and get to know them, we dont hide behind e-mails at this Firm, we pick up the phone too!The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
  • Calculating accurate wages, including bonuses, salary increases and overtime
  • Calculating tax, national insurance deductions and pension contributions
  • Calculating statutory payments, such as SMP, SSP, SPP etc.
  • Issuing of relevant tax forms
  • Process new documentation for starters and leavers
  • Handle and respond to discrepancies and queries relating to payroll
The requirements of an ideal candidate are:
  • Passion for excellent customer service
  • Enjoys telephone calls with clients
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Experience of processing multiple payrolls
  • Good timekeeping and an ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Organised, logical and methodical approach
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Flexibility - busy periods may require longer working hours
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Knowledge of PAYE, NI and Auto Enrolment regulations
  • Understanding of ongoing legislative changes which affect payroll
  • Understanding of Work Place Pensions, Auto Enrolment and Salary Sacrifice Pensions
  • Experience using computerised payroll software
  • Discretion at handling confidential and sensitive information
Qualifications required include:
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C above)
  • Minimum 2 years experience of processing multiple payrolls
  • Basic computer skills in Word and Excel with experience using spreadsheets
  • Basic accounts skills for producing journals, preferred but not essential
  • Hours negotiable
